The people at the booth in the lot need to learn how to talk to people. They were talking to one another when I arrived and never looked up. It is loud outside with aircraft taking off and I couldn't tell when she started talking to me, since she didn't look at me. She would talk to me, then her co-worker, then to me -- I couldn't tell what was going on. I don't think she ever made eye contact with me during the entire exchange. That is not effective customer service.

Pick up and drop off was great. However, car stalled that evening when we came to a stop. Called service and they said we had to wait three to five hours for a tow truck to come get car, or we could return to airport (40 minutes away). They never said anything about a new auto stop feature which turns the car off to save gas when it comes to a stop for an extended period of time. The attendant (Randi) at the airport was able to help us. Bottom line - service people on the phone had no idea about this option. We wasted 90minutes driving back and forth to airport, not to mention the worry about car stalling in middle of traffic without knowing why. National should advise us of this feature when picking up the car, or disable it altogether.

I’ve never had a problem getting a car from here. It’s a smaller location, but I usually get a few good choices of cars. Always greeted by name, good people.

Service time was better than my last experience at Savannah National Car Rental.

I rented a car from National. The car stopped running after 2 days. I called road side assistance. They asked me if I wanted the car replaced. I said yes of course. They asked if I wanted them to bring a car to me, I said yes. They put me on hold for a while and them came back and told me they didn't have any cars they could get to me that day. They stated that if I wanted a car I would need to ride with the tow truck driver for 76 miles. Not much of a choice so I agreed to that. They told me that I had to wait by the car for the tow truck to arrive for an hour. After 3 hours of waiting a tow truck finally showed up and loaded up the dead car and then drove me to airport 76 miles away to get a different vehicle. The driver dropped me off in front of the agency. I went inside to the person working at the desk, it was almost midnight by then. I told her what happened. She looked in her PC and saw nothing indicating that I was bringing the car to her to get a replacement. She asked me where the dead car was I told her it was on the tow truck that dropped me off. She told me that she couldn't help me with out the other car and that they do not use AAA for towing vehicles. She then claimed that there was nothing she could do for me. I let her know that was not the correct answer. She then called her supervisor and told me that the supervisor stated the same thing. By then I was getting a little hot under the collar. She told me that I would have to call roadside assistance back and straighten this problem out on my own. So I called roadside assistance and the crew from India had taken over the roadside assistance line. I had to repeat my story three times to them as they transferred me from person to clueless person. While talking explaining my story a third time, she started waving her arms about telling me she had it worked out. She said she had a car for me. I asked her for a sports car, she told me that she didn't have any, I asked her two more time and she all the sudden magically found a sports car for me. I am really getting tired of paying loads of money to rent a car and then when I have a problem, they turn around and try to blame you for everything, trying to make it your problem instead of the company's problem. I spend 90% of the year on the road in rental vehicles, I could easily by a new car every year for what my company pays them for my rentals on a yearly basis. THEY ARE HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND PUT ALL THESE STUPID RESTRICTIONS ON YOU, BUT IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THEM THEY ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO DO AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE TO HELP YOU!! You might have seen the TV commercials stating that if your an Emerald club member that you can pick any car in the lot. They do not honor that pledge at each location, it changes depending on where you are. We asked for a truck this Monday they said fine we went out to the lot and we needed two rentals and they knew this we picked up a full size pickup and we picked out a Full sized vehicle. While wait to leave the rental lot some lady shows up and starts giving us grief over the vehicles we had choose. After harassing us for 5 minutes she let us take the vehicles we had choose anyways. Watch out for these rental car companies and do not believe the ad's they run on TV. They do not run a honorable business and they do not have any ethics all they want it to get as much money as possible and to heck with the customer or customer service. I have never had such horrible customer service in my life. They way they treated me was absolutely asinine. We as consumers should be able to sue companies that treat us like this or levy fines on them when they wrong us.

Friendly work force with good vehicles. I have rented from this location for more than 40 times and my last rental car had an issue with its radio that will not retain presets or clock settings. Otherwise, I would have given a 4 star.
