I am an Alamo Insider member and always try to book Alamo, whenever possible. However, this was a very unpleasant and stressful experience.
On October 3, 2017 we returned the vehicle full of gas to Savannah International Airport. Immediate the Rental Return person started pointing to the existing damage, mentioned above. I had to show her the circled damages noted at pick-up and tell her that the small paint blemishes were undersized according to the other attendant. She accepted the vehicle as was explained.
My reservation return was scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Due to the evacuation of Savannah, however they cancelled my flight. I thought we would be able to keep the car and drive to NY with our rental. I called to check how much that would cost and was shocked to hear it would be $900 additional! I explained it was a mandatory evacuation but they said it didn't matter.
On September 23, 2017 at Savannah International Aiport I picked up a full sized vehicle that was rented for ten days. The agent who was very nice (but inexperienced) had a lot of trouble with her computer and after several attempts of reloading my information printed the contract and told me the price. The price she gave me was almost double of my Costco/ Alamo confirmed price. The agent didn't know how to correct this error but eventually got help from an associate agent. She told me that I would be assigned a new car with only 600 miles and sent us to a designated spot to take possession of this vehicle. As we approached the new vehicle, we saw license plates (front and back) that said "waiting for plates". We asked one of the garage attendants what this meant; he responded not to worry about this and told us to just take the vehicle, anyway. We refused, for obvious reasons, and another attendant went back to the counter and got us a different rental vehicle nearby. The substituted vehicle had some front end bumper damage and smaller paint dings and blemishes. He told us he circled the bumper damage; but not to worry about the other smaller existing paint damage. This car had approx 60,000 miles; was filthy and it was Not Full of Gas; which I didn't notice until we left Alamo.

I booked a trip through united airlines that included my Alamo Car Rental. Upon arrival I wanted to include my Alamo membership. me I would have had to do this at reservation time. As a result I was unable to get any free upgrades
We waited in line. Checked in. Service was not very friendly/ just matter of fact. Then we were told they had no cars and to go sit and wait. We sat and waited. Saw keys being delivered. My husband walked back up to get the keys and they were busy helping others. Unbelievable. Why should we have to wait longer when we were completely checked in? Then VERY RUDE TALL MAN told us to go take a seat and wait until the were finished! NEVER AGAIN and we will inform delta (delay referred us). I️ tried to call the 800 number to complain and you cannot get a person.
Well the service is good and the rates fair, when I turned in my car I left my opener and charger in the car! Remember i had went back and the drop of attendant had my stuff bagged and told me he was going to make sure I got it back. Thank you for great service and you will see me again.
I returned the car a day earlier since I was leaving Savannah and they never credited me the early return even though I asked.
I've been renting from Almao over 10yrs. My most recent visit was horrible. I had a guy check my car in and said he saw a scratch. He's correct.It was there when I got the car.it was so noticeable I assumed they already had it notated in their system.He said I would have to pay a deductible that same day for the damage w/o checking in the system out contacting anyone.He paid attention to nothing I said.When I went in they said that it's a long process and they will check the system.I didn't have to pay anything that day.I was already having a bad day & this guy could care less about giving customer service and trying to help.Be careful when you go here to this location. Report everything about the car.
