By far the number one museum to see in Savannah. Make sure you go to all three of the foundations properties. One of the highlights of our trip.
The kids' area is not nearly as engaging or expansive as the website would have you believe. Pretty much the size of a large bedroom with a half dozen simple activities for kids. Along with my wife, mother-in-law, and two kids (3 and 1), we arrived around 3:30 (closing at 5) and paid $62 to enter. Not worth the cost at all - the kids had no interest in the rest of the museum and we only went because of the kids area, which we thought would be a place to burn off some energy. Instead, after 20 minutes they had seen and done everything. If you're going simply to get the kids out of the house on a rainy day, save your money. It's not worth the drive or expense.
It's a fun place to stop by for a short visit but the cavernous spaces within makes you wonder where all the art in this art museum is.
Really enjoyed the style of art here- somewhat modern but not too abstract. Also has the bird girl from Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Gift shop awesome as well.
Wonderful changing art exhibits. Spacious building.
