He has been great with both of my kids...very kind, takes his time with my kids and seems to know his stuff. My kids really like him and I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old.

Bad allergic reaction with facial swelling and hives and refused to see me. I went to urgent care first and they issued a referral. I have insurance that does NOT requrie a referral and they insisted I go to a primary care doctor first to get them a referral even if my insurance doesn't require one. They were not concerned at all about helping a patient in need (WITH INSURANCE). Went to another allergist that was glad to help.

First off, I never write reviews because I am hard to please, and I am never pleased beyond expectation. However, today was different. I walked in a few minutes late as a new patient - my paperwork was already filled out as they mailed it to my home. I handed the receptionist my insurance card, and I was called back immediately. The medical assistant (can't recall her name) was extremely sweet and THROUGH. Her demonstration and instructions on how to perform the spirometry and complete pulmonary function tests were very clear and concise. When Dr. Finkel walked in room, as most doctors "just wash their hands" he did not. He waited until the water got to the right temperature THEN washed his hands. He was very thorough when asking questions about my family's history and trying to get background information on what is the trigger of my God awful allergies. As dreadful as one may think skin testing is, Dr. Finkel and his staff made it a seamless process. I left my phone on the other side of the room; it was SO THOUGHTFUL for the medical assistant to ask if I needed it after she had noticed I did not have it. Twenty minutes expired after the skin test, Dr. Finkel's nurse asked if I wanted her to take a photo without me having to ask :-) (IT IS THE LITTLE THINGS) I was very curious to know how my back looked but was too embarrassed to ask. When Dr. Finkel walked in the room, he too asked if I wanted him to take a photo. (HOW DID HE KNOW?) After he had read the nurse the results of my skin test (I am allergic to 34 of the 80 allergens we tested for) he gave my back a nice rub down with alcohol and applied the cream. Before he invited the student in training into the room, he asked if it was ok if she came in. As you can see, I am very pleased beyond expectation. Dr. Finkel's is clearly the number one allergy and immunology doctor on this side of the Mississippi River.

I've been seeing Dr. Finkel for around 5 years and he's absolutely amazing. His office staff and nurses have always been pleasant. There's little wait time, and the visits are quick but thorough. He's also great with children. I recommend him often!
