You will find very few good things at The Clark Center. The list of concerns with this place is QUITE lengthy, ranging from incompetence to filth! In the midst of a mental health crisis, we had no way of knowing how truly inadequate this place is or we certainly would never have allowed our daughter to be admitted there. To be fair, the therapist I spoke to seemed to be very invested in providing quality care. It is extremely unfortunate that the nursing staff we encountered were lazy, disinterested, unreliable, poorly trained and blatantly rude. The room our daughter was assigned to had visible black mold. The space we were taken to for visiting hour was nothing more than a filthy hallway. The staff person (we have no idea of his name or title) who escorted us to the "visiting room" was kind enough to drag some chairs out. This program needs to be shut down while it is thoroughly cleaned and the staff fully trained. If you or your family member are in crisis and this is the only place with a bed available, take it and transfer ASAP! However, if you have a choice to go anywhere else, go!!
I spent a free days here to help with a massive anxiety attack! The staff was amazing and so quick to respond to my immediate needs and my reactions to new medicine.
A good friend of mine was in need of help. She was sent here for her depression. She got the help she needed. She and I both were appreciative of the staff. Stephen the therapist was very helpful. He was knowledgeable, caring and friendly. Thank you.
God Bless you all❤
Now I'm on proper anxiety, depression, and PTSD medication to aid in my daily living. THANK YOU staff and especially Dr. Thomas...
Went in suicidal, came out feeling even more hopeless and suicidal. Never got to meet with my therapist. No activities to do there. The food is disgusting as well as the showers/rooms. The worst part about the place is the horrible, insesnsitive nurses. They do not care about you at all, disorganized, and will make you feel bad about yourself. The place is completely disorganized, boring, and disgusting. All that is provided for you is a plain room with a bed and a shared TV room with crayons. The group sessions are not held on the weekends so you're stuck there ruminating in your own thoughts. The week days they have a few group sessions that are a complete waste of time. The majority of the time at the group sessions were spent gossiping about other patients or what's wrong with the facility. They do not allow you outside at all either. I left crying and extremely suicidal. Im 18 years old and I should not be feeling like this. I had to lie to the mental health professionals that I was feeling happy and not suicidal to get out of there quickly (within 72 hours). I highly reccomend looking at other options like st simons on the sea. It would take too long of a review to explain everything that happened to me while I was there to show how horrible the place is especially the nurses.
