The outside of the building looks run down, trash everywhere, got inside the room, there was mold on the ceiling, asked for a nonsmoking room, and we got a smoking room. Cockroaches everywhere. Housekeeping came by, and we showed him some coach roaches and the best he could do was pull out a broom and sweep it out the door. Told them about the mold, and bugs, didn't get our money back. HORRIBLE HOTEL. We want our money back
Ppl at front desk acted as if it was a 5 star hotel and wouldn't admit to any faults of how dirty everything was
Wish there was a way to give zero star. I never post any reviews, but I felt like I had to this time. The "hotel" was VERY smelly and dirty. The first room that we recieved was a NON-SMOKER room. As soon as I opened the door (we hadn't stepped inside yet), we could smell the cigarette. It was mixed with some other weird smell that I couldn't determine what it was. I'm guessing that the smells diffuse through out the entire place since non-smoking rooms and smoking rooms are alternated (Seriously, why would anyone design this way??). There was no way that we were staying in this room, so we went back to the front desk to change the room. The second room we got was a LITTLE BIT better. There was still cigarette smell, but less than the other one. So we entered the room and started to unpack. However, we noticed that the furniture in the room was VERY dirty, and not in good condition in general. I already know that hotel rooms do not look like the pictures websites provide but these were exceptional. The table in the room was wobbly. One of the legs was about to fall off. The chairs looked like they were picked up from dumpster. There were white spots which looked to me like molds and other spots that looked like liquid spills. Honestly, I'm really worried about the sanitary about this place. Anyways, we didn't want to put any of our stuff on the floor so we put everything on that table top. The bed was beyond any imagination (by imagination, I mean after all these, my expectation was already very low). When I uncovered the blanket, there were hairs on the bed sheet. Can you imagine?? I thought fresh linens were what hotels myst provide. We had to get fresh linens from the front desk and replace it ourselves. We really wanted to leave the room right away and get another place, but we were really tired after long driving and I wasn't feeling so well, so we just decided to stay there. Otherwise, we would have just forgotten about the money we spent on that room and gotten another room somewhere else. If anyone ever chooses to stay here after reading this review, I have no right to stop him/her, but I feel like something has to be done about this place. No other hotels (same price line) that I stayed in was this beyond-imagination-dirty and smelly. The bathroom was the cleanest part of the room. Oh, lastly they had WiFi but we both could not connect to it. Not sure if anyone else had the same problem.
Silverfish in the walls that travel from room to room via all of the mouse holes coffee pot had white hard residue at the bottom....( Wonder what was being cooked in that)...
Housekeeping is AWFUL! Trash and tires pollute the property all around! No one cares to clean it up. Grass is uncut. Mosquitoes are a plague and with the zika virus confirmed on Hilton Head Island, it's a concern. Constantly we had to ask for towels to be changed and for toilet paper. When the housekeeping staff did clean, they vacuumed, changed towels, and left! Nothing else! Sad! We had to take a smoking room for two weeks after requesting a non-smoking room. Then, we had to clean it! The walls were filthy! All the bed covers had cigarette burns and holes. No compensation of any kind. After our third day, on the second floor catwalk was a dirty sock and jewelry from departing guests. It's still there today as we check out (ten days later). The stove has two burners and only one is connected. We were told on day seven it would be fixed. Didn't happen. Day four the laundry room had five washers where one worked, two were marked "out of order" and the other two that weren't designated as out of order took $5 combined! Stuck with a trustworthy laundromat. Finally, the hotel was displaying in their reception area a "So Proudly We Hail" award for perpetual display of the American Flag. They need to remove it, because not one day in the fifteen we stayed there was a flag of any kind was displayed. Not even on the Fourth Of July! I could have raised an ISIS flag and the staff would have never known. I give two stars only because they accepted our pets.
I will never stay here again. The rooms look nothing like the site photos and are worn, dirty and grimy. I wasn't expecting a lot given the price, but this place managed to disappoint nonetheless. Not sure what was the worst part, but it was probably the TV remote being covered in an unknown sticky slime. Stay here at your own risk.
