This HGI wasn't as beautiful as others in the chain, but it was clean, and staff were attentive. The hotel was undergoing some light renovations while I was there, so I suspect soon it will be looking more like others in the chain. If you do not qualify as legally handicapped, but have mobility or balance issues, this might not be a good place for you to stay. Parking is sparse, and there are no sidewalks in the parking lot. The bathtub in my room was also very curved on the bottom, rather than having a flat standing surface, which would be an issue for those who struggle on uneven terrain. However, there were a good number of rooms with "accessibility" designation plaques outside, so maybe this issue is remedied if you know ahead of time to request one.
The room was nice. King bed was a little small. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Doentown/ Historic District.
The rooms are a good size, comfortable, clean but the bathroom is oddly small, two people definitely can't be in there at the same time. Everyone at the hotel is very nice. They have a restaurant which is great. The breakfast is weird, it's a flat rate of 11.99 buffet style which is a great price but sometimes I just want to order a bagel or cottage cheese. At 5p the restaurant opens for dinner, you can go eat downstairs at the restaurant or bar (but they are both actually in the lobby) or order to your room. Everything I tried was pretty good, no complaints. The bar also opens at 5p and stays open till 10p every night. I believe they have happy hour from 5-7p. The bar has beer, wine and hard alcohol. They have a pool as well as a hot tub which is cool but their sister hotel is directly behind the pool so it feels like both hotels can see you if you wanted to sunbathe, for kids it's great and it's gated in. There is a fitness center, didn't use it but it looked like it had everything you'd need while staying at a hotel. There parking lot is pretty much always full but they have an overflow lot at their sister hotel. Oh and what drove me absolutely crazy is that there isn't a full length mirror in the room, actually the only mirror is the one in the bathroom so even though there is plenty of extra space to get ready in the room while someone is showering or something but no mirror. There is a shopping center directly across the street with a grocery store, nail salon, Starbucks and a few restaurants too.
Staff's very friendly. Room's got nice amenities, keurig, mini fridge, fairly large flat screen. The hotel bar isn't so great, but there's a lot in the area, so it's no big deal.
Our 3 day stay was exceptional. The location is great. It was easy to get in and out. The restaurants in area were great.
