Very charming and quaint. The Garden Suite was delightful. Food was excellent and Monique and staff was very accomodating with requests. The bed was a little soft for my back.

A wonderful stay! The room (Garden Suite) was charming and cozy. Loved having our own little patio/garden. The breakfasts were wonderful and very upscale. It was nice having snacks in our room with our own little refrigerator and kitchen. Monique went out of her way to help us with tours and her staff was very professional. I highly recommend it!

The Garden Suite at Chatham is a charming and cozy room for a couple visiting Savannah for a few days. Monique provides delicious breakfast & dessert daily. The suite is about a 10-15 minute walk to City Market and the River Walk shops and highly recommended dining. Bring a big blanket or some beach chairs as Chatham Square is directly across the street, really, 15 feet from the front door. Have some plastic cups to enjoy your beverages there in the square.

What an absolute gem. The owner is amazing. Our place was absolutely charming and right in the middle of the city with parking and easy proximity to everything we wanted to explore. They bring breakfast in the mornings, keep the refrigerator stocked, clean while you're out and leave you wine and pastries in the evening. Pet friendly too. Our place (Jenkins House) had two bedrooms, a beautiful patio, a wonderfully charming living room and kitchen, beautiful artwork, and was priced the same as most of the hotels in the area. We couldn't have asked for a better situation. Highly recommend.

I stayed in the Tatnall House years ago with my husband and had a great experience so I went back again and stayed at the Jenkins House with my mother. The homes are lovely but my bedroom had a loose rickety night lamp on the night stand and that was a turn off. The courtyard on the website for the Jenkins Home also paints a very different picture than what it actually is - a small, sloppy, messy breeding ground of mosquitoes and something we would never considering sitting in. Next to the front door in this same area is a refrigerator we thought were for drinks to keep outside. When we opened it, it was covered with dirt on every shelf. I almost screamed as I was not expecting that and slammed the door before any bugs came at me. We thought that was an awful thing to keep next to the front door and were appalled by the entire area. The lock to the home was not working properly so after standing there messing with it a few times, both my mother and I counted almost 10 bug bites between the two of us in the following days. Nowhere else in Savannah did we have trouble with mosquitoes other than there. They even followed us in up to the second floor bathroom. A bottle of OFF is kept in the kitchen but we didn't feel people should have to cover themselves or their clothes with spray because of that messy outdoor area. We thought it should've been done away with entirely. The breakfast is delicious but served extremely late for those who have an agenda of places they want to get to during the day (as most travelers do). In my experience, a bed and breakfast typically offers a range of time to eat to accommodate people both early and late. Their's is set at 10am which means you waste your morning waiting on it and are stuffed full just an hour before lunch (which again most travelers like us may already have other restaurants on their list to try). We were told if we wanted breakfast earlier to just let them know. The first morning, the 10am breakfast didn't even show up to the house until 10:30 because as we were later told they were meeting specific dietary requests for other guests in another home. That left us standing around in our home waiting. The second day we requested a 9am breakfast and it was still delivered at 10 as we stood around and waited again. I left a voice mail on Saturday at noon requesting the 9am breakfast on Sunday and was told Sunday at the hour late delivery the message was never received. As a result, both days we were unable to try a place in Savannah for lunch and we missed a cemetery tour due to the hindrance in our schedule to get back on the road the second day. For 2 nights at almost $700, we felt it a very steep price for both the disregard in our time as tourists and having to deal with and treat multiple bug bites for the next week to come. We know their intent is to serve everyone a hot meal and that's a nice idea but the execution to meet all guests needs simultaneously is very poor. To meet the needs of one guest's home shouldn't pose a problem for another home as that's really not their concern. It should either be prepared and left ahead of time for all guests to heat as was done in the past and was still delicious, dropped off for guests at an early time that morning in the warming bag so they can come down and eat when they want, or they need to retrieve their voice mails or communicate internally to keep strictly to the time that guest requests if they want a live in person fresh delivery. Anything else is insufficient and unacceptable for the money you pay to stay there.
