Watched a corrupt officers take a guys camera phone and throw it in a puddle. When a cop does this you should be reprimanded because he's hiding something why is he scared to be on camera because he's corrupt that's why. Should charge the officer with misconduct , distraction of someone's property. keep up the good work on making citizens hate police officer's.
I would like to thank officers Jean Louis and officer Leach for their outstanding service! Today is May 18 2017 at 3:05 am. I am night manager at America's Best Inn here in Savannah and I feel so much safer knowing I have fine officers like this to come when I need their assistance! They are a fine example of Chatham Counties Finest! Thank you!
We are in Savannah today. As anyone who has visited, sometimes when your GPS tells you to turn left, you realize a little too late that is a one-way street. Sure there are signs posted saying "do not enter", but when you are an outsider, you sometimes miss that and just follow the instruction given by the annoying electronic voice. We started to make a left turn today and realized it was one way. We were already correcting the mistake when we hear an obnoxious horn blowing. The Chatham County Sherriff's Ford Explorer was behind us. We said "sorry" out the window and smiled. The cop driving the Explorer yelled out the window saying "One way! Do not enter! Really?!!!" in the most demeaning and rude tone possible. I understand him blowing the horn to warn us, but was this necessary? As we headed behind him down the correct left turn, we saw him try multiple times to pass other drivers when it was obviously not safe to do so, because he was simply in a hurry (no lights, no siren). Wasn't it obvious to him that he shouldn't pass? He thought we were idiots for starting to turn down a one-way street. Sometimes people make mistakes. We had already realized our mistake. Have a little humanity and don't be a jerk! If I had yelled anything back at the officer, we would have been pulled over. This is an abuse of power and it is this particular brand of officer that gives all cops, including the good ones, a negative image. He needs to learn that a badge isn't a pass to treat people like dirt and it doesn't make you more of a man. I will think twice about returning to Savannah. I love the city, but wouldn't feel safe knowing that this type of fraud is out there protecting me. Thank you.
