When visiting Savannah, you need to stop through Chippewa square. It not only is a great historical area, but it is filled with life during the warmer days with music, people reading, relaxing and just enjoying life.
Wonderful Square! Kinda funny that the Forest Gump Bench is gone! Great little shops around the square also.
This is a nice little park for locals who want to get some fresh air or stretch their legs. It's quiet and peaceful. We visited because we'd read that the bench from Forest Gump was here, but it's been removed and placed in a museum so there's nothing to see or do here. Fine for a peaceful stroll, but not worth going out of your way.
Really awesome experience!!! Savannah is packed with so much history, don't expect to see everything you want to see unless you have a few days to spend. So much to do, so much to see, and a great trip for the family. I strongly recommend making a trip down here. In this particular square, Forest Gump and many other movies are actually filmed right there, so if Hollywood entertainment and trivia are more your style, there is definitely plenty of that as well.
This is a nice square. It is where they shot the wraparound scenes for Forrest Gump. There are benches there, but none are positioned like his was in the movie.
